Matteo Stefanel talks to CNBC Africa about investing in financial services

Matteo Stefanel, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Apis Partners, joined CNBC Africa in Lagos on 11th May 2017 to discuss the investment opportunity in financial services across Africa.

The financial services sector represents a significant portion of the economies of countries in Apis’ targets markets in Africa and Asia. However, as Matteo explains in the interview, there is still widespread underpenetration of financial services in the region, which opens up opportunities for innovative solutions such as mobile money to increase financial inclusion and generate value for investors. Matteo also discusses the presence of strong cyrbersecurity measures as a differentiating factor for businesses, and the role that regulation plays in the financial services sector among other topics.
