Asad Naqvi
Asad is actively involved on all aspects of the investment process including investment origination, execution and portfolio management.
Prior to Apis, he spent over 14 years in private equity, investing and corporate finance.
Asad was a Partner at Wolfensohn Fund Management, the Financial Services and emerging markets focused private equity fund founded by James Wolfensohn (former World Bank President). He headed their London office and managed several of the firm’s Financial Services investments in emerging markets, ranging from consumer finance lenders to stock exchanges.
Prior to that, he was the Director of Acquisitions & Investments at The Resource Group (TRG), a global investment holding company with operations in the U.S., Pakistan, Senegal and the Philippines, where his experience included over 10 private equity style investments in the business services sector.
Asad started his career at Lazard where he worked on over 10 M&A transactions with an aggregate value of over $14 billion, serving on the Board of Directors of several investee companies.
He was a speaker on issues of financial inclusion and financial technology at several industry events, including The Financial Services Forum Executive Summit, Citi Digital Money Symposium, Africa Financial Services Investment Conference, SIBOS / Innotribe and the SME Finance Forum.
